When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:4
Beloved, this life that we have i.e. Christs’, didn’t come out of our self effort or good earnings. It came from the sacrifice and thereafter, resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Christ paved a new and living way for us and now we are in the new covenant which is established on better promises.
In the story of Mephibosheth Jonathan’s son, David cut a covenant with Jonathan to show kindness to his descendants. The word “kindness” in the old testament is the word for grace. In this allegory; David represents God, Jonathan represents Jesus and House of Saul represents the human race. God cut a covenant with Jesus for our benefit. David asked in 1 Samuel 9:3, “is there not someone left from Saul’s family, that I may extend God’s kindness to him?”
The same way God is asking now, is there anyone who is left in the human race that I can show my grace to? “For grace that brings salvation has appeared to all men” (Titus 2:11). The way God views you now, is different. As Jesus is, so are you now in the eyes of God. When God looks down, what He sees is Christ life inside of you. Jesus is our representative before the Father continually. So do you think yourself not qualified for God’s kindness and love? Jesus is your qualification; He paid the price for you and took all of the judgment that came with your disqualification. Keep your heart focused on Jesus, who is your qualification.
Prayer: I focus on You Jesus, my qualification.
