Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Revelation 2:4
The church of Ephesus, had fallen from grace: Jesus said, “remember from where you fell from and repent”. The word repent is “change your mind”. “Where you fell from” indicates, not necessarily a position but a status. They fell from grace into law; when a believer seeks to be justified by the law and their works, they fall from grace.
In your service to God, are you relying on your strength or ability? The mindset behind an action is what really counts. Are you working for God, because you want His blessings or because you are aware that you’ve been already blessed? Stop filling your mind with “me, myself and I” but with Jesus’ finished works.
Allow the grace of God labour through you, just like Paul (1 Corinthians 15:10). Believe that the Lord loves you; He did that even when you weren’t worth anything to Him. Embrace His love and grace, for there’s no way you can please God by works. It is He that works in you, both the willingness and the doing of His own good pleasures. Allow our Daddy God’s love work out His goodness and greatness in and through you.
